Dr
Rudolf Frei, the chairman of the NRI Foundation, has more than 40 years
experience in risk management and has worked as a risk consultant in more
than 120 different companies. In 1984, he joined Mettler-Toledo as the head
of the Environmental, Safety and Health department in Greifensee. In 1987,
he became the first director of the Environmental and Chemical
Administration of Basel. He joined Swiss Re in 1994. In 2002, was appointed
Group Operational Risk Manager. In 2007, he retired from Swiss Re and now
works in Switzerland as a consultant (risconsult).

Dr.
Koornneef is an expert on organisational learning from critical experiences,
including incidents and accidents. In this capacity, he is involved in
international projects in domains such as railway safety, fire services,
human factors in aviation, and safety in health care. As a senior staff
member of the
Safety Science Group of the TU Delft and as a long-time active
member of the European Workshop on Industrial Computer Systems, chairing a
Subgroup on Medical Devices, he is experienced in multidisciplinary
cooperation and knowledgeable about current developments and practices
regarding management of major risks in The Netherlands. |

Petra Scheffers
is a project manager. She has more than 10 years experience in developing
and managing training and educational programmes, mostly gained at the
postgraduate school of Delft University of Technology. Since 2011 Petra is
an independent advisor in her own company, Lelie Consultancy B.V. which
develops and advises on learning programmes in the field of Safety and Risk
Management.

Dr
John Kingston gained his PhD in 1997, and has worked with accident
investigation for more than 25 years. His research focuses on accident investigation and regulation
of risk, principally with respect to occupational and public safety. Dr
Kingston heads a company based in The UK (John Kingston Ltd) which
provides training and consultancy services in accident investigation and
risk management. He works in a variety of sectors: Aerospace, Fire and
Rescue Services, Government and Oil & Gas production. |
