Dr. Frei consulted in risk
analysis and lectured at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) for
risk management. After heading the HS&E department of Mettler Toledo, he
became the first director of the Environmental and Chemical Administration
of the Official Cantonal Laboratory of Basel. Before being appointed Group
Operational Risk Manager he developed SONAR for Swiss Re, a systematic
method for identifying new risks. |
His research centres on
organisational learning and the design of organisations to manage risk. He
provides services to several international organisations in diverse sectors:
Oil, Rescue, Aerospace, Energy Generation, Chemical, Rail Transport as well
as government agencies. Dr Kingston lectures at Universities in the UK and
the Netherlands.

Dr Koornneef's research centres on
incident analysis and organisational learning and he specialises on learning
from small-scale abnormal situations. He is active in the European Workshop
on Industrial Computer Systems and chairs a subgroup on Medical Devices.

Previously Dr Schallier was Head of Safety & Security at the
ESA Research & Technology site (ESTEC) before becoming the security &
risk management coordinator in Darmstadt, Germany. His research interests
focus on corporate risk management, and the role of visualisation of risk
in management decision-making. |
